The other day, I was forced to take a detour on my way to the gym, and cruised the Pacific Beach farmer’s market. (And by forced I mean that I missed the class I wanted to go to, and instead of working out for the extra 40 minutes before the second class, I felt it was more appropriate to sample every piece of cheese, and bread dipped in oils, and hummus that the farmer’s market had to offer.)
Bistro Blends was one of the (15) stands I was able to get a sample from, and I fell in love with what they have to offer. There were about 15 different oils, and vinegars to choose from, but the two best were the Extra Virgin Olive Oil with Meyer Lemon, and the Heirloom Balsamic Vinegar. The Heirloom Balsamic Vinegar is aged in barrels for a few years before it is bottled up and sold, and the result is simply put…heaven in your mouth. Pair it with the Meyer Lemon Olive Oil, and voila! You have the perfect salad dressing or bread dip! Mmmmmhm…I am salivating thinking about it!
All oils, vinegars, and more products can be purchased online at http://www.bistroblends.com/ (A little pricey, but worth every penny!)
I have heard of it before, but hadn’t found a place to purchase it until recently. How delicious does this stuff sound?? bacon flavored salt? BLACK TRUFFLE salt??! I can’t remember exactly where I found the link to this store’s website, but I like to thank the Lord himself for putting it in a place where I could find it, and as a result…I’ve died and gone to salt heaven.
taste test to follow.
Ever.
For months, I have been talking about starting a blog. Well, here it is.
I’d like to set the tone of my new hobby with a song that I consider a classic. Pretty corny…I know. But I couldn’t resist. It’s just too appropriate!
